I need help in connecting my scanner to my new system and any help would be great. Please no harsh answers, this is a serious question, thanx in advance.

if you have windows xp, it should recognize it automatically. Next step is to install the scanner software. Then scan away! good luck.

You need to install the drivers (and software) that came with the scanner.

*IF* you don't have them, then go to the Scanner manudacturer's website and dowload the drivers and software.

I'd provide the link myself, but you neglected to provide the make & Model # of your scanner and what OS you're using

there should be a cable that includes when you bought it. You install the driver first and connect the scanner to your computer with that cable. MOst likely, it is a USB cable.

if it is new then there should be an instruction manual read it
