Hello coreyusaf. Good question. YES.

Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
Jer 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the
LORD:
Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Rev 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
Rev 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
Rev 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
Rev 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
Rev 21:5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.

A spiritual community as you describe it, would contradict everything about scripture, assuming you are using scripture as your guide. Insular religions exsist all over the U.S., including whole communities dedicated to this practice.
Yet, they are generally stagnant, since they find no need to offer their spirituality to any on the outside, and not only stagnant in this sense...but they lack the capacity to grow because they feel they have nothing else to learn from any one on the outside.
Unfortunately, being labled for your belief is a hazzard of every religious group of people, cult or not.

human beings constantly assume that communes are cults through fact cults frequently decide for the commune format. although, there are communes that are linked to valid religions, inclusive of a Jewish kibbutz or a Christian monastery. There are others that are in keeping with non-non secular motives like nudist colonies and people who in simple terms prefer to come again to a less difficult way of existence. those might all look cultish to those on the exterior, yet they don't look to be, in reality.

If one requirement of the community was to believe in a certain religion, then it might have "cult status". All the major religions are cults anyway, just on a grand scale.

Lots of (Hippie) communes did it in the 60's and are still thriving today. They just don't push any religion. You can be whatever you want to be and it's all spiritual. You can even be Atheist and get along fine.

Probably not. Even the Quakers and the Pilgram fathers were thougt of as cults back then.

probably not so much, people are afraid of what they dont understand and they wouldnt understand anything then what they "know" or believe to be real. (didnt we sit here burning witches back in the day, and the explanations were what? because the girl can do math? because the girl did what? dance?)

I don't think there is a way. You would be labeled as hippies or cultists or something. People are just too afriad of things that are different.
