my comment is...my story is the opposite of yours. i grew up in an athiestic home. and my parents used to say to me exactly what you are saying now..."people don't just have babies without sex, you cannot turn water into wine, do you actually think someone with magical powers parted the seas?, made cripple people walk. proof is in the pudding and things don't make sense to me. if you ask someone who believes they just say he is the almighty... people tell me that you just don't understand the power he has. heaven and hell....are you telling me that you will either float in the sky or burn in hell.. how do you know? show me proof! oh yeah the bible says it right?some guy talks to you in your head and answers you back and tells you stuff?" but i just kept on going in the direction i went in, and the more i did, the better it looked.

One would also think it's impossible to communicate with others all over the world, by typing on keyboards and transmitting information over wires and fiber optic circuits at nearly the speed of light ... unless you actually experienced it.
Try explaining how a cell phone or a satellite phone works ... to someone who's never even experienced electricity.
Many of us have actually personally experienced the power and real presence of God.
We've witnessed miracles.
To us, there is no doubt, just a few "grey areas" that still need a little more study.
And the Bible is not always the best way to discover your spiritual side. That's really what faith communities are for.
Hang out with God's elect, and sooner or later, you'll witness a miracle and begin to get a sense of the "big picture".
I guarantee it!

First I could care less... Second your wrong about everything.... and I'm only 14 yet I know more than you! Jesus and God can do anything they want including turning water into wine..... and all the other "magical stuff" you put down. Heaven and Hell is nothing like you said it was, read the Revelation its way different, and I can talk to God and pray to him because he will only answer when you really believe or if you really want to and need help! Plus you don't know the kind of power he has so stop trying to prove him wrong! you should be ashamed >:( You need faith and that's what God says you need it or your not going to make it to Heaven! On Judgment day (if you don't learn the truth in time) you will be judge and sent to Hell! Its God or the Devil, Heaven or Hell! That's it no more choices, you choose! I choose Heaven :)

I'm not sure if I can really explain *my* take on this....I believe that many things which HUMANS could not put into words did take place. Then, to make them possible for people to believe/relate to & or just take on faith...they were put into words in ways that would have been believeable back when they were penned.
I DO believe there is a power that is beyond our minds grasp & that the Bible is an attempt to let people know that it is so. As far as some of the tellings of the stories, I agree with you that they just don't really make sense.

Let me tell you about a man who was healed of all these things . Before I knew God I couldn't hear? I was like you are right now. You don't understand nor can you make sense of it because you can't hear. Before i knew God I couldn't see.I was a drunk , I used drugs , smoked cigarettes.People would try to tell me what these things would do to me but I just couldn't see it , or hear it. Before I knew God I would cheat , steal , and think I was doing the right thing but really I was walking down the wrong road because I didn't know how to walk the right path. Before I knew God I would curse , lie , deceive , and speak evil things about Christian's just like you do.I didn't know how to speak. But you know what ? Now I know God and He knows me.And now I'm going to pray for you everyday that He will someday heal you to. Know why ? Because I know how you feel , I used to feel the same way.

You're on the right path, using you own mind is the best thing a person can do. It takes effort to examine and make decisions but it's more than worth it. You mention it doesn't make sense and you are right on. Keep asking questions, question everything, look at evidence from all sides and make a rational decision. There are more and more like us every day

A major problem with faith is an overexerted sense of entitlement for "proof." Want undeniable proof that can not be picked apart, it doesn't exist. Pray for faith to believe in spite of the war that's going on in your head. It will come.

Just because you don't understand something doesn't negate it's existence. The world is always spinning. So why is the wind not always blowing in one direction? I don't understand it, but I know that wind exists.
