When my father died, I had hope and peace in Jesus. Same with my mother. in all my trials, I have had hope and faith in Him. What do you have if you don't believe?

This sounds like another, 'Please give me your atheistic or agnostic point of view, so I can choose you best answer and TRASH your thoughts Completely by hoping that you find the CORRECT way of life with Jesus."

I'll humor you.

I have lost both friends and family members in accidents and sickness and old age. And i have mourned for them appropriately, and have had the help of my friends and family beside me to get through the sadness of losing someone.

What do I have? I have the knowledge and acceptance that WE ALL DIE AND WE ALL WILL LOSE PEOPLE WE LOVE. i also have the personal strength to carry on, with the help from people who care about me if i need it.

What i DON't have, is the concern where the recently deceased person went after they died, or the hope they are 'watching over me'. Whether we want to admit it or not, the person that we lost, is gone. they are buried in the earth, or they are creamated.

The difference between someone with your HOPE and FAITH and someone who doesn't have YOUR hope and faith, is that we can respect the lives that the people have lived and enjoy every memory we have of them. Instead of accepting death we feel the need to make everyone live forever. well, your father, your mother, my family, even some of my friends, are all dead, and there is NO difference between them.

But somehow, i know this answer won't suffice for you, because to you, there is no good answer to this question. If i'm wrong in this assumption, then i apologize. If not, then why not just accept that others dont need or want the religion you preach?

I don't have faith. I do have a love of life and a proud acceptance that I will forever be a part of this wonderful universe and feel very lucky that I have been given the conscious to see what this universe is all about and actually be an active contributor to it.

My father died last March. I am still not a Christian.

I still have hope and faith, but not in the Christian god. I have hope for the future of mankind, faith in myself, love for the world.

The bible says that if you do not believe that you will not have hope and faith... that you will have sorrow. It says that when you lose a loved one if you believe you will have peace for that which was lost... for those who do not believe will grieve.(this is not a direct quote but more of a summary of words...)
I too am at peace... and I am filled with hope.... God bless you and Im very sorry for your loss

Time, Love and Tenderness. And no, I'm not being a smart a$$. I don't believe in christianity's view of god, but I do believe in spirituality and something bigger than ourselves. Primarily I believe in love. That is the divine to me. If I have love, I have nothing but time....time to grow, heal, nurture and bloom. If I have tenderness, I am giving to myself and my fellow man, which means I also have love.

Tenderness can be compassion, grace, strength and hope. Love is love..and time is something we all have plenty of.

Why are you evening considering another perspective or religion when you've been introduced to the words of faith. Take a look inside and ask yourself what do I believe.

I have hope and faith in myself. In my loved ones. In my spirituality that doesn't revolve around religion.

I have hope that you will enjoy your faith in Jesus, and that you will not judge me for having a different opinion on religious beliefs than you do. Please tell me I can have faith in this.
