I used to think it was gross too. However, now I can not go into the bathroom without a magazine, catalogue ,or newspaper.
My preferred choice: Mad Magazine..hehe

It is a bit revolting to see a magazine rack in a bathroom. You know they they were read by people in the process of taking a dump.

I think its gross, personally. You're in there to do a personal matter, and are needing to wipe, etc. No one wants your hands that have unzipped, whipped out, or wiped parts on a magazine to be shared. Its gross to me.

Anyone who has time to read in the bathroom seriously needs to see his doctor because he has IBS. Having a bowel movement shouldn't take more than a minute or two unless there is something wrong with you or you are eating no fiber.
But I don't mind if someone reads in the bathroom if they want. But I certainly wouldn't touch one of their contaminated toilet books. Yuck.

I think it's gross and unsanitary. Magazines usually get all crinkly and nasty in a bathroom. People read them to poop and they're touching them! I don't like it at all. I poop and get out. I am fast.

As a "decorating statement", they're awful!
But as an avid reader, they're great. EVERYONE I know reads in the bathroom---what are you going to do, stare at the wallpaper?
I've seen posters inside the toilet stalls, in staff bathrooms at hospitals, with information on health updates (handwashing guidelines, new drug information)----
.....certainly gives a new meaning to the phrase "toilet training", but I don't know HOW they described it under "staff continuing education outreach".

If you do,really it means someone has a problem with there bells and needs a lot of time which ain't right or if it is in a work place it's one way to keep yourself occupied while waisting time in not having to do any work. It doesn't take long to take a crap unless something is wrong with your body.

Depends on what kind of magazine, I suppose.
Having reading material nearby isn't bad though either way.
