I disputed a charge on my credit card several months ago, and it showed up on my credit card. I was wondering how does that affect my score?

I sent about $120 to a guy in England for some paintings, via paypal, and he contacted me once, but then not for a long time after that, and the time I could dispute it with paypal passed by.
I contacted Citibank, the card I charged it on, saying I never received the goods. They put me through a huge ordeal just to get the charges reversed. When the charges were reversed, the guy finally contacted me, and sent me the paintings. I called Citibank saying I got the goods, and to please charge me, so they did.
I was nowhere near my limit when I disputed the charge or afterward. I still have the card too.
I received a notice a couple of months later, on my credit monitoring service that the dispute showed up on my credit report, but it didn't say if it did anything to the score or not.
I'm somewhat worried, because I might need to dispute another charge (it was a duplicate charge) if the vendor doesn't call and fix that situation.

If everything is done properly, there will be no effect from the dispute. There may be effects if you wait too long (and don't pay the bill) and then dispute. Also the merchant or service provider that you are disputing may file something until the dispute is over. You may wish to get a free copy of your credit report.

Here's a trick There are three agency's Get your report from only one at a time and spread out your requests over 4 months. That way you can ask the first company in a year for another report and you can keep on top of your reports for free.

disputing a charge on your credit report doesn't necessarily do anything with you credit. you need to add some more info because it doesn't seem like anything wrong. did you go over the limit or stop paying the card?

i really can't see why a credit card item dispute would show up on your credit. it not a customary thing to do but if it's true, i can't see why it would do damage to your credit report.

as for another dispute, do it. a double charge is very is to fix and prove. first contact the merchant and tell them you got double charged. if that doesn't fix it, dispute it with the credit card company.

The only way it can hurt your credit is if you didn't pay the legitimate charges on your card while you were disputing that one (someone people dispute a charge and forget that they have 10 other charges that they have to pay in the meantime)

You could be arrested for fraud. And it wouldn't be very difficult to prove. So instead of paying a parking fine of a few dollars, you would be able to add a felony charge on top of that.

It doesn't even show up on your credit report unless your dispute is denied and you still don't pay.

Dispute do not effect your credit score, nor are they considered derogatory against your credit.
