I don't think demonstrations of affection need to be made in public. For instance, I don't see how it's at all tolerated and appropriate for two gay waiters in front of the entire restaurant to walk up and kiss each other, and expect everyone to be ok with that. (Yes it happened.) Do you see a boy and girl kissing in between waiting tables? Or answering phones at an office? Or at the cashier at Walmart? No way.
That people do (and support!) that kind of unprofessional behavior, especially since it's such a controversial thing, and people's consciences differing from one to the next, that may be offensive, why they would force their feelings and opinions on others, not giving them a choice to view it or not.

Maybe you need to look further than the outside. Have you ever talked or associated with a "gay" person? They are just like you, but different in your eyes. Maybe if you talked and try to understand their feelings you would see things different. Hate is such a strong word.

Either you (1) are someone with a cultural or religious objection to homosexuality; or (2) you are threatened that if you see them touch each other you will get turned on and that would reveal something about yourself you are not prepared to face

Because you probably haven't gotten a chance to actually get to know anybody who's gay. I have plenty of gay friends and they're no different from everybody else I know. Except for the fact that they're gay of course.
