I think that vicodin would be more than sufficient. Percocet makes me woozy and unable to function. I only had to take painkillers for a day and a half after each round of extractions (had 2 out at a time) and then I used ibuprofen or tylenol to handle the discomfort. There's a little pain but mostly it's just tiring and gross.

Percocet contains oxycodone; Vicodin contains hydrocodone. Compared on an equal dose basis, oxycodone is a much stronger painkiller. However, if one is given equivalent doses, the two drugs should work equally well. Either has the potential for addiction, though it is uncommon for one to become addicted thru proper medical use.

Percocet gives some people nausea... so I would go with the Vicodin. But If you could, ask for Percodan.. Same family as Percocet, but it's stronger with virtually no side effects. It worked great for me.

I had dry sockets and used vicodin for a couple of weeks and it worked wonderfully. The only problem was that after 2 weeks I didn't want to stop taking it! I did, but with much complaining.

I've had 8 teeth pulled last year. They gave me Vicodin for pain and it did wonders. Be careful though, it'll knock you out. I slept for the 1 whole day. After that, I settled for Advils or Tylenols. They say that it can be addicting so I took it that one time. Eat soft foods or drink lots of fluids for the next few days..

From a strict chemistry standpoint percocet has more or the active opiate ingrediants that deal with pain. Percocet also has Tylenol in it which helps with the pain with a diffrent mechanism.

I got Vicodin and I didn't have any problems. I had four teeth out, two impacted. It didn't even hurt- but I was really good about not getting the sockets dried and doing everything they told me.
