Being on your period won't matter one way or the other. It can be a bit embarrassing though. I was having a miscarriage and had to have a transvaginal ultrasound, so I know what it's like. They basically put a condom over the probe and go about their business. In fact, they still put the condom thing over the probe whether you're on your period or not. So it's up to you. If you want to take the chance that you'll have a transvaginal ultrasound during your period it shouldn't matter, the US tech has seen it all I'm sure. But if you'd rather not for your own sake of embarrassment, then reschedule. Hope that helps! =)

You can have both transabdominal and vaginal pelvic ultrasound during your period. You might find a vaginal ultrasound more embarrassing and messy while on your period, so it is up to you whether you want to reschedule or not. Your ultrasound tech doesn't care, as we have seen it before! And the person who answered ahead of me is correct....we do vaginal ultrasounds on women who are bleeding and miscarrying all the time, unfortunately.

L22DMS has it suitable. it is amazingly uncommon, and unprofessional and unethical to apply a gadget that could desire to penetrate a non sexually lively woman in considered one of those way as to violate her, in her concepts. only using fact a woman's hymen could be broken doing typical carrying events does not recommend one is sexually lively. So be certain to tell them which you at the instant are not and prefer they use an outdoors skill to get the information. And just to make specific they don't insist and attempt to get you to do it your way do a seek on substitute strategies for checking for PCOS, print them out and take them with you. notice: your weight could be a controversy with getting a sturdy examining externally. Your well-being, interior the tip, is a lot greater substantial than modesty or having to handle a trans-vaginal probe being inserted into you. bear in concepts that it is not a intercourse toy and consequently could be very narrow with purely the sensor head having any real length to it. I applaud your virginity. maximum of start up as early as 10 presently. i'm hoping your exams don't come back with any undesirable consequences and that if any scientific care is mandatory that it's going to not be invasive and could be of short length.

Either way, if it is a vaginal ultrasound or one where they scan from your abdomen, you can be on your period. I am a sonographer and we do it, it makes no difference.

I would get an alternative date just in case. You didn't say if this was internal or external, it will make a difference. If it's internal the pictures won't be as clear as they should be.
