You can usually get it done extremely cheap through the Humane society or animal control. You should call them.

I don't live in Queens, but I live on Long Island. Check this site out... http://www.friendsofanimals.org/ go to the right of the page where it says to put in a zip code for spay/neuter certificates. Once you follow the directions, it costs $51 to neuter a male cat. You should also call petco!!! Their vet services are relatively low-priced compared to private vet clinics. I called today and asked about the cost of microchipping a cat and was quoted that it's only $30, so I'm sure the rest of their procedures are reasonably priced too!

You should have your cat fixed asap. Most male cats are now "fixed" by 3 months of age. If you wait until 5 or 6 months old, they may stay aggressive and be more prone to mark their territory indoors. The average cost for neutering a male cat is about $75 to $125.00 depending on the Vet. and what area you live in. If you cat was female .. it would cost even more to have her spay .. about $150 + . Get it done very soon. !

I llike to watch Animal Cops on TV and they have shown a surgical van that goes out to areas in NYC for very low-cost neutering. Call the ASPCA in New York and see if they are coming your way. Or maybe a not too long subway trip into their factility in Manhattan (I think). I don't know exactly where North Shore Animal League is located and I am sure their clinic must do it low cost.
Neutering is a simple, non-invasive surgery and you might be able to take your guy home in a few hours after the anesthesia has worn off a little bit.

It depends more on the individual vet than the location.
Our cat was neutered for $50 bucks....but I've seen some charging $65, some shelters charging $30....it just depends. So you're gonna have to ask around.
And props to you for doing the right thing and getting him neutered!

I'm not sure about NY but our adopted cat was already taken care of by the rescue group we got her from. I know that they also would take your animal and arrange it for you if you didn't want to or have the funds to do it.

I don't live in Ny, but I don't know you can usually get it done a lot cheaper if you go to a spay and neuter clinic than if you go to a vet.

examine your community SPCA. they frequently have a low-fee technique. maximum do the two cats & canines. we live in Anchorage & took the two one in all our canines to our SPCA & fee around $one hundred twenty FOR the two! i'm specific a cat could be much less in maximum situations. solid luck!
