If Muslims aren't happy with the way they are being treated, why don't they go back to where they came from?

I heard on Rush (yeah I'm one of those) that the Australian Prime Minister wants Muslim immigrants to treat women like equals and learn to speak English. There were reports of Muslim groups complaining about this. If they don't like it go back to where they came from. Maybe it will be more to their liking. This is a very small part of what is actually occurring by the way.

I never said all muslims are terrorists or that Islam is a bad religion. Stop putting words in my mouth.

Anybody moving to a different country should have the curtesy to learn the language.
I don't think many true Muslims would appreciate your comments about their treatment of women. However, if people from other countries move, under the impression they can maintain their way of life and culture in the new counrty, surely it would be wrong to allow them to settle there and then tell them that they have to alter their culture. How people set up their homes only really concerns the people in that particular home, I think anyway.
I really don't feel the whole multicultural idea is working well though, so I think almost everyone would be happier in the countries they came from 50 to 100 years ago.

As the wife of a Muslim, I think I can speak on this one. There are millions of people who don't like the way they are treated where they are but its better than where they were, so they try to make their lives as good as they possibly can. Just because someone is constantly putting my husbands religion down, and he doesn't appreciate it, doesn't mean that he is going to return to a desolate land, when he is happy with a family and business of his own. Why should he pay attention to the few small minded individuals whose only purpose in life is to hurt others? He's got better things to do. Like live out his life in happiness.

If they are legal citizens of the country, they shouldn't have to "go back". In fact, they may have even been born in the US.

The constitution, however trampled by the Bush administration, gives people the right to worship religiously any way they choose. No one should be shunned for their beliefs.

I'm an atheist, and I don't care what anyone else is as far as religion. Worship the way you want. Just don't try to push your beliefs on me. If you're Christian, don't push your beliefs on anyone. If you're Muslim, the same applies.

Some "melting pot" you're trying to defend. As long as people are legal citizens, we should all be equal.

hispanics, mostly mexicans, don't teach kids english, and send

you could take your argument and expand it to cover anyone who complains. If you complain that your taxes are too high, I'll tell you "go back to where your family came from". Cause your family originally came from somewhere else too.
