Maybe - at 6'1"/180, I'm the biggest in my family (and I'm female). And while I may have gone to seed a bit, it has little to do with gender, and everything to do with not having been to the gym in a while.
My biceps and triceps may not be the strongest on the planet, but my traps? Lower back? Abs? Another matter entirely. Here are the stats for my favorite exercises from when I used to work out at the gym:
Traps: I could lift 'only' about 180 pounds - but from my observation, that's at least respectable regardless of gender...
Abs: Trained obliques with a low cable - using a whole American stack (i.e. 150 pounds) or even a bit more (70 kg).
Lower back: Did back extensions on a Roman chair - with a 55-pound (25 kg) dumbbell clasped to my chest. That was enough that my trainer didn't even want to watch while I was doing it! LOL
And I did all of this while taking chemotherapy. Even happened sometimes that I took my dose, went home and had dinner, then hit the gym...
I really wonder sometimes if I didn't turn out so big and strong because I grew up in an unusual home environment where no one ever told me I couldn't do these things, so I just went ahead and did them!
I mean, I definitely believe that our beliefs have a great influence on our results, and I strongly suspect that this applies even to such things as physical size and strength - regardless of gender.
And it definitely does affect our relationships. It can obviate certain trust issues, because both are equally strong, or it can even reverse the usual problems so that it's the woman who can say that she treats her man with respect not because she has to, but because she wants to. And I don't know that that's a bad thing...

More women are into working out and body building and fitness than ever before, so it might seem that way.
