you need to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. The 45 minute thing is not true, but don't over 60 minutes at a time.
Do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.
The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!
Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.
Good luck and stick at it.

My sister got me this book called "Lose That Baby Fat!" I haven't tried it yet because I'm only 4 weeks pospartum not 6 weeks like you're supposed to be when you start exercising. But I'm really hoping it works. It has different exercises to do every month with an exercise ball. It also encourages you to do walking and to eat healthy. I've completely given up ice cream and candy bars (my biggest downfalls), as well as most other sweets. I try to eat more veggies and drink more water. I've been breastfeeding exclusively too, but I still feel like I look 3 months pregnant. I'm guessing it just takes a lot of work. Starving yourself won't help, you'll lose more if you eat healthier food more often. And just exercise a lot!

Eat right and exercise. Don't beat yourself up. Having a baby is very hard on your body. You may never get back to your pre-pregnancy size and shape. If you have a positive attitude about yourself, a little extra weight because of a beautiful baby shouldn't matter all that much.

Breastfeeding, moderate exercise, balanced diet...and give yourself time--you just experienced a major life event. Cut yourself some slack. Besides, you most likely are the one that notices it the most. Everyone else is busy being happy for you and cooing over your cute wee one :) Congrats!

Eat healthy and regularly. Exercise. Walk your baby in their stroller every day and do some stretching at home while watching the t.v. (if you watch the t.v.)
