Call your insurance company before listening to some really bad advice here. There is nothing wrong with the mustang v6 it's actually a pretty awesome car. 211 hp 200 pds of torque and is not a dog. If you NEED the hp cuz your lacking in other areas then a car isn't going to help. Take one for a ride it's by far the best car on the road right now for the price.
Even my husband who is into speed and muscle cars (and actually a chevy guy) says the v6 has plenty of power and doesn't act like a v6.
This is a damn nice car for around 20k and if you buy it by monday (in the chicagoland area, don't know about the other regions) they have 0% for 72 months. awesome deal. you need to make the decision, so move away from your computer and go drive one

If you are buying the 6 cylinder model, you'll probably save a little on insurance over the V8 versions like the GT, Cobra, etc. They are looked on as higher-perf. cars that are more likely to get raced or run hard. Some insurers might treat all Mustangs alike though...I'd talk to your insurer to see what if any difference in rates there will be on the V6 versus the V8 model.
On a side note...I'm curious why you are buying a sporty car with a V6 though...kinda defeats the purpose, plus the V8 model's not that much more money, especially if you're financing it.
Hope this helped.
PS...the first answerer has a point about there being a lot of new-generation 'Stangs on used car lots. I'd take one for a good test ride first. The first year or two of a new body style tend to have bugs and issues...the engineers work them out in later models. Something to think about... but hey, I'm a Vette guy. Although I owned a '69 Mustang. Now that was a great car.

If you ask me Mustangs are cheap looking and not exciting to car enthusiasts. Insurance has nothing to do with the model of the car, only your insurance company decides that...dont you know that???
Anyway, save your money and buy a 2008 dodge charger. Look it up, its the hottest prduction muscle car ive ever seen. Its awesome!
Drop the cheap mustang, Id rather have a frod 500 than one of those......keep looking.

you are going to pay the same amount of insurance for a v6 and a v8. the insurance companies say that they are both sports cars!
buy a v8 if you want a real car.

Please don't buy that car. The V-6 is awful, and the GT is nut much better. I recommend you rent one for the day and see for yourself.
Ford isn't in the toilet right now because they make a magnificent vehicle.
This isn't a Ford/Chevy thing I have either. You'll be disappointed by the lack of power, how uncomfortable the interior is, and the fact that everyone and their redneck brother has one. Have you noticed how many of the 2006 models are on used car lots already? Theres a reason for that.

Whether or not you buy it for looks and comfort is your choice.
Insurance is pretty good though. For it's class it's the best value, you can't get any other RWD V6 Coupe for that price.

Better buy a Lotus Elise. Uses half the fuel (which gets more and more expensive, Think of the future!). And is faster on the quarter mile, probably.
