I've had my cat for about 5, 6 years, and rarely do I sneeze when I'm near him. Recently I've started to sneeze (10-15 times) when I'm near him. Is this a sudden allergic reaction? How come this rarely happened before? My dog doesn't make me sneeze, so is there a reason in this?

They also have allergy shots that you can take to reduce your sensitivity to cat dander. These shots take a long time to take effect, and this may not be the solution for you. But since you undoubtedly love your cat and don't want have to give them up, you should ask your doctor about the shots as well as some sinus medication.

Im not a doctor but maybe now all of a sudden your allergic to cats. You dont have to be allergic to your dog though. maybe you put something on your cat that ur allergic to or your cat could have rolled around in something and has it in your fur.You should go to the doctor and check that out.I hope I helped! : )

cats have different dander then dogs...and allergies can come on at any time in your life...ask any doctor. *hug* i'm very sorry. either look into some medicine you can take...but take care of that cat. don't let her/him go running free...give it to someone to love. i'd go nuts if i was allergic to my babies (cats)...i adore them.
