So you're totally okay with the raving and rants of your fellow believers? finger pointing can go both ways. if you are intellectually honest, period, try toning down your fellow believers first before going on the offensive.

While i do COMPLETELY agree with you, i don't think that it is fair to say that atheists are the only offenders. The same could be said about virtually any religious group since the beginning of time.
Ever since the middle ages hatred and violence has sprung from differences of religion. Think of the crusades, and the many other religious wars that have occurred throughout history. Even in modern times religious violence has occurred. Think about the reason that the terrorist attacks of 9/11 happened, and the genocide in Rwanda. The violence/hatred stemmed from religion. I don't think that people should use religion as a reason to belittle others or as a reason for hatred, but it has always been that way, and probably will continue to be that way for a very long time. I sympathize with you- and am sorry that you have been offended by those who are too ignorant to respect the religious differences of others. I hope you will continue to keep an open mind; and continue to speak up about it when you feel you have been wronged. It's the only way to create change.

I am honored that someone thinks that believers in God have a "superior opinion". As a believer, I would hold that my opinion is no more superior than those of a non-believer, but thank you just the same.
To come to the defense of those you accuse of sophomoric name calling non-believers. . . I would like to point out that there are far to many so called Christians that resort to "Your going to burn in Hell if . . ." and other childish (forget sophomoric - I am talking down right childish) antics. When I read these, I am almost ashamed to be labeled a Christian with these people.
I would agree that I have seen some VERY offensive questions from "athiests" here, calling Jesus a "fag", or that "all Christians are idiots", but I do not attribute those to all athiests, only those that feel the need to cry out for attention, and are only looking to cause people to be on the defensive - honestly, I don't even read those any more.

Perhaps they feel they have to yell the loudest and fight the hardest because they don't have God on their side.
How can they let go and let God?
To Atheists there is no God.
Did you ever see a child who doesn't want to hear something? Shaking their heads and closing their eyes tightly and talking really loud. Also saying I CAN"T HEAR YOU! La La La La La La La, YOUR NOT SAYING ANYTHING!
How can someone accept the truth about God if they won't listen to reason?
Anyhow, Christians don't want to stop atheists from believing and practice of in there religion that God does not exist.
Why in the world do they feel so compelled and angry at those who believe in God and want to follow their faith?
As I recall we are a country which we have freedom of Religion.
I don't remember anything about Freedom from religion.
Atheism is a religion. They believe there is no God.
They don't have to agree with me and I don't have to agree with them.
Some mountains have Crosses on them. But Look at how many don't.
Taking an oath on a bible would mean how seriously I need to consider the accuracy and intent of my words.
To someone who doesn't believe in God, an oath on the bible doesn't mean the same thing. Why should they object to our being subject to eternal consequences of our words and actions, If they are still free to not believe and can lie with freedom?
By default their words are less trustable because there are no consequences for their lying.
Christians by their Faith in God are called to speak in truth. We count on God being on our side and pray that the Holy Spirit will give us the wisdom to express what is needed.
So who is bullying whom?

Do you feel accountable for all of the embarrassing posts by the believers? My values are intact and I don't feel responsible to anyone but myself and my family. People who know me know who I am and what some people on some website think about me because of my views makes no difference to me either way.
You can't base your opinion of a whole group of people based on the childish behavior of some.

it's proof of ANYONE's superiority no matter what the belief.
it's human, we do it all the time, even when we spout off to others to not judge and not hate, we end up doing it ourselves by evidence of our postings. if we really didn't care, we wouldn't be posting or speaking up. even you care enough to post about it. we do care and we our passionate in our beliefs and you know how humans are when passions arise. i think if we didn't care enough to say something, we'd be dead, only then can we not feel anything and even that's open for debate (spirit vs nonspirit)
most of it comes from not understanding. education lessens that some but doesn't depleat it completely. feeling is a sign that we are alive and human.

Actually, I am of the opinion that the majority of the defamatory posts that you are referring to are the work of sophomoric Christians, posing as atheists, in order to bring discredit upon them.

You haven't been looking much, then. You see Christians bashing non-believers and then forget about it, because you're probably more ok with it than you should be. See it the other way around, though, and it sticks in your head.
Also, think about a question like this recent one:
"Why are Spirit filled Christian people so happy and loving?"
You'd probably think nothing of that, but if you saw
"Why are people who know god doesn't exist so happy and loving?"
You'd probably take that one as an insult, wouldn't you?

I totally agree as far as the part of the situation that you are willing to see. Idiots of all persuasions show up on this site - FREQUENTLY. Not just the Atheists, or Ignostics, or FANATICAL CHRISTIANS. But all kinds of idiots.
I'm so tired of it, I'm looking for a site where intelligent adults can be found.

Why are you so worried about it?
when I am disturbed, it is because i find some person, place, thing or situation-some fact of life- unacceptable to me, and I can find no serenity until I accept that person, place, thing or situation as being exactly the way it is supposed to be at this moment. unless I accept life completely on life's terms, I cannot be happy. I need to concentrate not so much on what needs to be changed in the world as on what need to be changed in me and in my attitudes,
You shouldn't be so worried?
