I love my job and can't imagine doing anything else with my life.

I would recommend it to anyone who wants to make a difference in their community. But that person would have to have a thick skin and not get discouraged easily. First off, it's not the constant action and excitement you see on tv. 90-95% of the time is spent doing mundane, routine tasks. Most arrests are even routine, with little excitement, though you always have to maintain vigilance to make sure the arrest stays routine. People cuss at you, yell at you, insult you and your family, and some even try to hurt you. And while there are people who compliment and thank you, the ones who hate you are much more vocal about their attitudes. If you let it get to you, it'll really mess you up. You just have to let things like that roll right off your back.

I am a juvenile crimes investigator. I deal with any crime that involves a juvenile, whether they are the victim or the suspect. I investigate everything from shoplifting to murder. I wear a suit to work and drive an unmarked police car. I work closely with the DA and social services and follow a case from start to finish.

i enjoy my job. I enjoy making a difference in the community and esp. helping children. Police work is not for everybody. You have to have thick skin and be able to take insults, However I recommend it to anyone if they serious about entering into law-enforcement.
