Energy drinks are not cheaper than soda. The only thing I've seen that's even close are the huge Arizona ice tea cans for 99 cents. I see them for 4 for $3.00 at the grocery store too, whereas you can sometimes get three or four 12-packs of Coke for $10.00. Other than that, they're all $2.00 and up PER CAN. Why do you think Coke and Pepsi are pushing them. The profit margins are very high. Why do you think Hansen has done so well with Monster Energy drinks. Just because you found one can that's cheaper than a Coke, it's not true for all of them.

I love to cook. I love to ride my bike. One day I started playing around with some recipes for energy drinks and decided this one fit the bill.
INGREDIENTS:
1/3 Cup Lemon Juice
1/4 Cup Honey
1 Quart Water
1/4 Teaspoon Salt
1/4 Teaspoon Baking Soda
PREPARATION:
The nice thing about this drink is that it can be altered easily. For instance you can add more or less of nearly any of the ingredients. You can even switch out the water and substitute fruit juice, depending on your taste. I usually prepare this ahead of time and let it chill over night. If I want I can even put it in the freezer and let it thaw as I ride.

we have an asian market called super 88 and they sell the original Thai formula Red Bull in cans for less than a buck. It is sweeter and less carbonated but does the same thing and they look cool beacause noboby knows what the hell it is. I get cases of 12 for about 8 dollars. Unfortunately, the only 88 markets I know are both in boston.

Buy them in bulk at either Costco or Sam's Club and if you do the math you will be paying much less per can/bottle of drink!!
