If you're going strictly by value, take the 30, especially if your 944 is double action only. But you also gotta look at which one you'd rather have. Did you like the 944? Want to try something else? Even if you wanted another pistol it would be trading up to get the 30, then maybe you cuold trade that for something else. Or, maybe you just don't have any need for the Mini-30, or whatever you decide. It's a good deal if not a steal, but you gotta just sorta ask yourself.

Monetarily, it's probably not a bad deal, but I wouldn't trade mine for a Mini-30

Mini 30 isn't great, just buy a SKS for $150 bucks, it's about the same.

ohh yeah
you can make you mini 30 into a semi auto tactical rifle that actually will function for a hunting rifle.
