well it depends if you have natural curly hair than like 3 months if you permed your hair and want to straighten it than it should last forever.They have a good one at Sally beauty supply and it is only like $10

unless your hair is resistant and the wrong product was chosen, it's permenant. you have to grow it off or cut str8 hair off.
