Most people have no idea at all what they mean when they talk about metabolism.
There is nothing you can eat that significantly alters your metabolic rate.
Only exercise significantly raises your metabolic rate.
However you should consider that it takes a five mile walk (or equivalent) to metabolise the energy value of an average (300g) chocolate bar. In other words, exercise is a very slow way to lose weight - though of course exercise has many other benefits.
Basically, people are fat because they eat too much.

Yes you are right I know go through it everyday, IT IS CALLED WORKING OUT Walking one to two miles if not more a day. AND eating every 2-3 hours all day long small meals, THIS SPEEDS UP THE METABOLISM BURNS FAT, AND YOU LOOSE WEIGHT, I AM LIVING PROOF. When you go all day with out eating many person think this will help them loose weight, NOT TRUE, It will in fact help you GAIN. NO EATING AFTER 7pm and if you do eat, YOU SHOULD NOT GO TO BED UNTIL (4) HOURS LATER. Grapefruit/juice WILL BURN FAT/CALORIES QUICK NO BREADS IF YOU EAT BREAD BE SURE IT IS WHEAT NO SWEETS. TAKE CARE, I WAS 200 pounds back in February of this year I now as of today 8/31/2006 170; PLENTY of WATER.

A glass of water in the morning. Up to 4 cups of tea and 4 cups of of coffee till your dinner. plus spirulina whlich is a seaweed that you can buy in any food supplement store. You wont' have any problems.

Take kelp tablets, it speeds up your metabolism. Also makes your hair and nails grow quicker too!
