Have your dogs ever been away for any reason, like the vet or groomer and you walk in the house and it's so empty without them? I have 3 and I know this sounds silly, but when they go to the groomers their usually there most of the day. When I walk in the house after shopping or something, it feels so weird!! Even though I know they'll be home in a few hours, is that silly?

no that is normal because you have a regular routine with your dogs and when they leave for a short time it feels like you need to go get them back, you are used to the noise and all the rucus and playing that they do and now that they are away for the day it feels weird. i feel the same way i have 4 golden retrievers and when they go to the groomers they are gone for the day and while i am at home i am always calling them to find out when i can go pick them up. so what you are feeling about your dogs not being home and it feeling weird that is perfectly normal. so don't let anyone tell you that you are not normal, because if they do then that just means that they don't feel the connection like we do with our four legged friends.

No its not silly at all. Most true dog owners would know exactly what you are talking about. My dog is my kid and I hate leaving him at all. When I am out and see another dog I instantly start missing mine. And if he is at he vet for a day procedure I think I call them every hour on the hour.

I know what you mean! I have 3 dogs, too. When just 1 is away, it is amazing how that changes the whole dynamics of the house.
One of my dogs was sick and in the hospital for a week. She always sleeps at my feet. I cried every night when I went to bed that week. I missed her so much!!

No, It is sooo normal, it shows you are a good pet owner and you love you dogs, I am the same way with my cats, when my Cat Cally was at the vet my house felt so empty and loney with out her, and I too, have 3 cats, When the vet told us that he thogught she had some kinda of cancer, we cried for days until they told us it was just her fat belly! =) I was overjoyed and she is still alive and healthier than ever along with my other two cats.
You are perfectly normal it just shows that you miss your little doggie! =)

Not silly at all. I expect my dogs to jump all over me as soon as I walk in the door an deven though that can be annoying when my hands are full, I miss it like crazy when they are gone.

it's not silly at all. I recently had to go out of town and had to drop my dog off at the sitters the night before. It was so strange being in my house all alone that night.

no its not silly.. I've gotten so used to always having a dog trailing on my heels and bumping into me that when they're gone somewhere it feels like im missing something.
