You could have carpal tunnel syndrome. You get it from repetitive motion. People who work on computers or at grocery stores get it a lot. Get a wrist brace and try not to engage in activities that involves using a lot of wrist power like playing tennis, using a keyboard, painting, etc.

Go to www.hufa.org and find the symptoms page. Check under carpal tunnel. If rest takes it away, but it comes back once you start reusing it, then you may have an overuse syndrome.

Check your computer keyboard for ergonomic correctness. Check your posture (google for that). If your computer/chair/keyboard are not ergonomically correct, that can add to it.

Diet too can worsen a wrist pain, especially if you already have low blood sugar or other pre-diabetic condition.

Actually, I typed so much I had that problem. Do you do a lot of typing? Have you ever seen the keyboard that is divided in two, split keyboard. It let's your wrists lay flat without being curved in to type. It was a blessing. Try one of those.

U should put a magnet from your fridge on the hurt area and it should go away.
Olive oil may help also.
If it is extremely painful hold an ice bottle on it for 20 min.

Go to doctor and get an explaination of why it hurts. I have heard that Omega 3 fatty acids (fish oil) may help the imflamation.

Ice first, heat later. Then try some stretching exercises - what are you doing that your wrist hurts? You need to address that too.
