Well, my first ultrasound was an internal one and I was 6 weeks and 3 days. There was only a little white dot there, but it was a baby. Good luck!

My wife and I saw a little dot at 4 weeks which turned out to be our son.
More definition usually takes place at 12 weeks. If there is nothing in the uterus, then either you miscarried or you have an ectopic pregnancy.

I had my first internal u/s at 9 weeks...I had a blighted ovum and all they could see was a sac. So I had a d&c...the second pregnancy I had my first u/s at 5 weeks, and I could see the sac and a beating heart inside of it.

I would assume as soon as the fetus starts growing from a little cell to an actual baby. I really hope its not etopic.

An embryo can be seen at about 6 weeks by a vaginal sonogram and at about 7 weeks by an regular sonogram.
(this is 6-7 weeks after the first date of your last period)

I was 7 weeks when I had my first ultrasound. My son looked like a lil peanut, but I could see that he was there.
