Let's hope it's not because you live in such a benighted country that it does not provide medically necessary treatment or adequate social support for people so that they are forced to risk their lives doing desperate things.
In civilised countries with socialised medicine and adequate social supports, people need coat hangers to hang their clothing in a closet.

The baby was really an alien that impregnated her when she visited one of those bible belt states and she needed the coat hangers to build an antenna to contact the mother ship. I think she was trying to call the planet bubabubabipsolan
