I have a specialty in Periodontics and can probably answer your question. There are 2 kinds of gum recession. Gum loss due to periodontitis (i.e. Bone loss) is called Pathological recession and if that is case,your gums will not grow back. But if you lost gum tissue because of aggressive brushing, which is not accompanied by bone loss, you can get that fixed by a Periodontist. There are several techniques to do this. It is called a gingival graft. The Periodontist will harvest a small piece of tissue from your palate and place it in the areas of gum loss. If you are interested, ask the Periodontist for "Sub epithelial Connective Tissue Graft" which more aesthetic. Hope that helps.

Yes they grow back and they do heal. Your gums have to be healthy and your teeth have to be clean for the gum to attach to them. If your gums are receeding the only way to fix it is to see a dentist. He may do a scaling/planing and remove the plaque below the gumline.

What???? I'm almost sure your gums will not grow anymore. How does one lose their gums anyway? Maybe try getting your teeth filed down? ask a dentist!

gums never grow back, just like muscle mass and brain cells,
when you lose 'em thats it........just take care of whats left and floss twice daily....get teetch cleaned by dentist twice a year, and don't drink soda or smoke.....keep away from sugar too...
