Sometimes when I talk to my mom I talk "cutesy" and in a different voice and make "baby noises". Is this normal? My first wife said I needed to grow up and start having serious conversations with my mom.

To give you an example, its kind of like what Ferris Bueller talked like to his mom when he was in bed pretending to be sick. (in the movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off)

Is this the only way that you communicate with your mother? I think there are times that you should have mature, adult communications with your mother. I can really understand why a wife would get tired of it. It would become tiring after a while. In private--OK--but why make others endure it. If you knew that it irritated your wife, why did you continue? My opinion.
Addition: On reading some of your questions, I see that you do not want a serious conservation with anyone, just a bunch of attention getting questions.

If there's no abuse in your past.... and the "cutesy" talk is ok with your mom then I'd say it's probably ok. However, if this is causing problems in your adult relationships and making your mate feel uncomfortable, maybe it's not ok? Try figuring out what's making you talk that way with ur mom. If your childhood was healthy then maybe you just have a fun relationship with your mom. Take care.

Absolutely not! Talk to your Mom! Develop a secret code, develop your own language. Just keep communicating with her. You will always be her baby even when you have babies of your own. If it makes her happy don't take that away from her. It may be embarrassing when other are around, so maybe you can do it when you two are alone. There will come a day when you will not be able to communicate with her as you want to, and you will welcome any means of communication.

You are a mama's boy and alot of woman do not find that appealing. If you are going to talk like that do it when no one else is around. Its great to have a close relationship with your mother as long as it doesnt interfere with your wife. Sons are yours until they marry their wife and daughters are yours for the rest of your life. As the old saying goes.

You were too old for that once you got past the age of eight! Next thing you know, you'll be one of those people with adult size cribs who wear diapers and hire someone to pretend that they are a baby!

Sure go ahead, talk like a baby to your mom. That is a very attractive quality in a man.

Are you guys joking around? Then I say no. My mom and I have a goofy way of communicating; it's just our "thing."

Now if you're still living at home and the baby talk is serious... seek therapy! Quickly!
