I don't belong to any denomination.
My goal in life, as a Christian, is to be more Christ-like every day. To have more of Him and less of me in every area that I can from now until the day I die.

I am Methodist and my goal in life is just to live the best I can, to love God and my family and to serve Him in any way I can. I strive to be closer to Him and learn more every day. I am only human, so I also have worldly goals like paying off my car and my house and all that fun stuff!!

I belong to the Bay Area Christian Church (San Francisco Area), which is non-denominational, and is concerned with just following the Bible, and actually DOING what it instructs those who claim to love Christ, and considers themselves to be Christians, as what they should be doing...without all the man-made up extra crud.
I feel the prime directive comes from Matt 28:18-20: to make more Christian, and help them figure out how that is done, and what it means.
Beyond that, it is all about having a relationship with Him, and actually WANTING to hang out with Him in Prayer, reading His Word, and Christian fellowship. Since constant fellowship with the Father is what I believe heaven is all about, why would anyone even WANT to go there, if one does not like hanging out here on earth with God...in His Word, Prayer & Fellowship!? Just to avoid the alternative?
So one's goal in life as a Christian would be to spend as much time with the Father, Son & Spirit as possible, seeking out His will (and doing it, while we deny the fleshly urges that are not Godly) help make new children for Him, and--just as one would do with a potential girl or boyfriend--be seeking out fresh & exciting ways to please, encourage and bring joy to God's heart...rather than to mainly just seek out what makes us feel good here on earth!

I guess for me I like to break it a part. First of all what IS a Christian? Well if you look at the definition it is a follower of Christ, to believe, or accept... ok, well if you take it a step further, a TRUE Christian is a disciple of Christ. Becoming a desciple is a life long persuit. It is a person who emulates Christ and tries to become like Him in all areas of life. So with this said, what is the goal? To come unto Christ and to be perfected in Him. To recieve His glory and to be like Him and to be worthy of His presence.
