I feel your pain even though I don't suffer from schizophrenia--depression and other medical and non medical reasons for being extremely tired and fatigued don't go with having young children. It really stinks that most things to treat depression are basically sleeping aids--not at all what young mothers need!! sorry I didn't have an answer for you but just to let you know you aren't alone.

I do know that a lot of medications may take awhile to really get into your system and work correctly. I might be wise to have someone help you with children until you get your meds straight.
I have depression and I can feel for you. I hope it works out for you and good luck. Stay in touch with your doctor and keep family and friends close.

Tell your doctor that this medication is not working for you and that you would like to know about more options. Always keep in good communication with your doctor. He/she is there to help you but he/she can't do so if you don't tell him/her what is going on with you.
I have high blood pressure. My doctor put me on Benecar 40, however, it was still running high. I told him this so he added Topinal xl and it came down. If I hadn't told him the Benecar 40 wasn't working I could have continued to have a rising blood pressure. I had to tell him what was going to in order for him to fix it. You should do the same.
Good luck dear. I know schizophrenia is a scary thing.

My cousin has this illness and it is horrible I know. I don't know how you do it with children, she has never had any. She was on the same meds as you and all she does is eat and sleep. In her case it's a good thing because there are time at night she will take out walking in the dark and be gone for days. Bless you and I hope you find something that works for you.

Please talk to your doctor about this side effect and ask what other medications are out there. Everyone reacts differently to a medication, your doctor may suggest that over time this side effect will go away or lessen make sure to pin him/her down on this as far as how long to wait before trying something else. Maybe someone could suggest a good support chat room for your diagnosis. Hang in there!!!

Talk to your doctor about this, I do not know about drugs to help you but they should. And if that doctor can't help you, find another! Your right if you have 2 kids you can NOT feel this way. It's just not an option. Good luck, I really wish you the best on solving this problem.

sound like you need to change the medicine. If the medication is making you sleep all the time you may be on the wrong medication.

I totally understand. If I was taking chemo-I have had cancer-, I would have had help with my child. No help with mental illnesses. You have to ask yourself is the medication really worth taking? I understand you will have problems without meds, but are they worse than the problems you have on meds?
