My mom died from lung cancer (originally breast cancer). By the time we realized it had spread to her lungs (which we found out later had caused her coughing), it had also spread to her brain (which we found out later had caused her limping). Another sign of brain cancer can be forgetting things.
I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

My mom went threw the same thing her walking and memory she also had lung cancer but that was after it had gone to her brain. She was very tired and lost a lot of weight in the beginning. She also lost her voice because it had gone to her lymph nodes in the throat. The best bit of advice I got while going threw this was think of things that in the future you might want to know from your mom. Moms are our best teachers. Is there a recipe or something about a family vacation that you cant remember. She wont be there to ask those questions. And when the time comes remember to take it a day at a time. Some days will be better than others. But each day that goes by it does get better.

There are many symptoms such as increased bone pain, loss of weight( a big one in lung ca) and change of blood levels. There is an excellent non invasive test whichis the best cancer imaging out for cancer called a PET/CT scan that can easily determine the increase and decrease of disease. FYI this is covered by insurance and medicare!

Why no chemo or rad?

You might find some useful suggestions in patrick Quillen's Beating Cancer With Nutrition or in Mike Murray's How to Prevent and Treat Cancer with Natural Medicine. Never give up hope!

very sorry to read about your mom. severe coughing spells, severe pain. She may also cough up blood. It'll only get worse. My grandmother died from lung cancer, while in the hospital even morphine did not help the pain...........
