i was asked by my aunt and my sister to be the godmother of their sons and i was. Being a godparent is about guiding them thru your faith, maybe when you get married he will become his godfather, meanwhile they trust you and that should be a joy.

godparents don't have to be married to each other,,,,,actually in a way its best that they're not because what if you both were in fatal accident? your cousin will lose both....maybe your aunt thought about this or thought that your fiance wasn't the respondsible type.after all the '' job '' of the godparents is to take care of the child IF anything happens to the natural parents which includes shelter..schooling and financial plus medical.....

Catholic church requires for persons to be godparents to be married, but not necessarily to each other, so maybe she is thinking of somebody else to be the godfather. I wouln't do a thing since it's her business as of who she picks as god father.

Maybe she wants to wait until you two are married. OR maybe she's happy with the idea of just a godmother....it's her choice and you could always refuse.
