Nope, not fair at all!
However most seizure disorders can be inexpensively controlled with daily medications.

I would love to see pics of your rare varaiety. all the pics I have seen of the Kaninchen or Kaninchenteckels (Rabbit Dachshund) are of the smooth or wire haired ones> http://www.sensuroitu.net/valkeakoski/kuvat/r4-2.jpg

My friend has a dachshund that gets seizers. I think the dog is on medication now. They think it's because he came from a puppy farm. Must be inbred or something.

First off i would love to see a picture. I don't' think i have ever seen one! But you can go to the vet and get meds to cover the seizures. you will have to do some blood testing to make sure the meds are doing well for the animal. but they work out well! Good luck and email me some pics i would love to see her!

I understand your frustration, but seizures can be controlled with medications like phenobarbital. You need to speak with your Vet and need to have blood work done before. I hope that your situation can be controlled.

Awwwwww, you know most medical mysteries are 'un fair' pet or human.... love her to death, and don't ever stop.

Do be optimistic there are load of good pet med's out there to help her.

Best of Luck to you and you pooch =)

seizures are common in dachsdhunds. especially ones with questionable breeding. take her to the vet to get her put on medicine.
