Does anyone know about helping poor in other lands if you have the credentials? Where would you apply?

Peace Corps, Greenpeace if you want to be non-religious. Otherwise, contact your church about Mission opportunities. I went on a mission trip several years ago and it was the best thing I ever did.

Look for charities and voluntary organisations in countries you are interested to work in. Many of them offer food and board in exchange for working.

Don't do anything through the military as it will not be helping.
