All i can say is talk to your husband and tell him you are in the middle. Maybe he will let her have a "trial period". Someone has to compromise or your daughter might do it behind your back . Good luck!!!!!!!!

A lot of dads want to protect their teenage daughters. Is it possible that he thinks of her as his own? If her real dad isn't around your husband might just wanna protect 'his' little girl. Also, a lot of parents would say 14 is too young to be having a steady boyfriend. Try talking to your husband and find out exactly why he is hesitant to let her have more freedom. Good luck.

He's just looking out for her best interest, remember he used to be a 14 yr old boy and knows what they are like. There does need to be a little compromise on her being able to go out with friends. But for me I was not able to date until I was 16 then a guy had to ask my parents permission (yeah I'm old school). You guys need to find a common ground, maybe he doesn't trust your daughters friends. You need to find out why he's not comfortable with her going out with friends...but face it the world becomes less and less safe everyday, he just doesn't want her to get hurt...I know you care for her too and want her to be able to have freedom, but there needs to be a common ground so you are not feeling torn.
Good Luck

You are her direct blood relative, your husband is not. She should be able to go out and have fun, but in a reasonable fashion. You make the decision, not your husband, because ultimately it comes down to the mother. So YOU make the decision, not your husband.

Yes, I have some advice....Get a spine and raise your daughter the way YOU belive fit. If you dont put a stop to his controlling ways, both with you and your daughter, you are going to regret it and your daughter will resent you.
