if you do 25 pushups 6 times, the next day u shud start feeling the pain in your chest. For your chest, ur hands shud be placed in line wit ur shoulders, but it doesnt make that much a difference. Anyways, pushups will not build big pecs, it will tone and harden them though. To gain size you need to bench press or do flyes. ( look on net for what these are) You should also drink 1 litre of milk a day and consume as much grams of protien as u weigh in pounds. Working out with no protien is useless. Buy whey protien and mix 20 grams of protien with milk and drink right after any workout. eggs, fish and meat are your friends

There are 2 types of muscle fibers. Doing pushups is more of an aerobic exercise, and could help you lose weight! Which you don't want to do!
The second fibers are stimulated by weightlifting. You should probably bench press, flyes, dips and THEN do pushups. Google these exercises.
Pushups give your chest a full look for about 10 minutes. Then the blood rushes out and it starts looking normal again. You are doing your pushups fine. I do 200 a week, but I'm not big or anything.

Elevate your feet on something like a chair. Use dumbbells as grips on the floor or a push up bar. Squeeze your pecs while doing every rep. Do what is comfortable at first. But I would do at least 200 a day to start.

if you want pecs... then i suggest you try swimming and doing pushups. you can build some good looking pecs. swim a lap then get out of the pool and do one pushup and then increase by the amount of laps you swim. you should probably try to move your arms a little widered than soulderwith apart.

you should bring your arms in closer when trying to build up your chest further apart works on the back of your arms.. I startes with 5 sets of 20 for one week and then 5 sets of 25 the next week on so on and so on but take atleast 1 day off every week to relax your muscles you dont want to over work them and strain yourself....

Dont do pushups...get a set of weights, and lift them 100 times every other day.

push up bars. 8 bucks at wal mart.
I used to stack encyclopedias up and do them from them. this allows you to go much further down and work the chest better.
