We're thinking about taking our kids to the Children's Museum in Indianapolis. Is it worth a two hour trip and does anyone recommend a nice hotel with a pool. Thanks!!

It is totally worth the trip-- esp if they are between 4-11. There is so much to see and do there. I would recommend that if you come on the weekend, bring a lunch of your own or be prepared to stand in line at the lunch counter a LOOOONG time with possibly no hope of getting a seat. A minor inconvenience when the exhibits and the hands-on things for children to do are so wonderful.

THey have all sorts of info on their site to make your stay and your visit comfortable and pleasant.
As for hotels with a pool, I don't know your price range but if you want one downtown, there aren't many "nice ones" for less than $80-100 a night. Go outside of downtown towards the inner 465 loop and you can get it a bit cheaper. If money is no object there are always hotels like the Canterbury and the Conrad!
I would recommend the Hilton downtown, simply because it is haunted.... but if you don't want that, here is a map that shows you where the museum is and the lodging that is close by.

I live in Indpls, Yes, the childrens museam is wonderfull!I also think the Embassy suites is a great hotel with reasonable prices. You will have a such a good time at the museum. Let me know. There are so many things to do here in Indi if you have never been. Get on Indidnapolis's website and it will let you know of all the great things going on,

i don't know about the hotel but the museum is worth the drive..they feature the sesame street characters and have dinosuars displays and lots of interactive things to do with the kids. stuffed wild animals and themes ..mazes..lots to do,,,,,

my kids have been the a few time it a cool place to go i know my kids really enjoyed what you in Indy try the zoo it has so much to see there i think it is i live 1 hrs from there

IT IS FREE EVERY FIRST THURSDAY OF THE MONTH, COME THEN IF YOU DONT THINK IT WOULD BE WORTH IT. I THINK YOU WOULD ENJOY IT. I LOVE VISITING THERE EVERY MONTH.
