You don't need to wait for it to come back, so there is no question.

Use the Green section of the V5 form at the post office to tax it once you have the MOT cert, and you're done!

1 You must insure it before all else to keep or use it on the public road
2 After insuring it you are then able to drive to and from a pre-booked MOT test and also to and from a repairer should it fail
3 Then you must tax it and display the disc to use it legally. If you have purchased the tax on line then I think it would be a mean copper to stick you on for "failure to display a current road fund licence"

No, as long as you do keep it off the road and then tax it as soon as possible. That means you cannot drive it home or to be MOT'd. It will have to be towed there.

No. As long as you have proof of purchase to cover your back. The previous owner should have an off road marker and this usually has a date of some sort attatched with it. If in doubt phone them and advise them of the situation. Happy driving!

You have to declare it of road by using A SORN form. (Available from post offices)

Otherwise tax is required and you will get fined.

You will have to make sure that it is SORN registered. (Statutory Off Road Notice). As long as it is you shouldn't have a problem.
