What is it that makes something alive?
I don't believe in a god with human emotions like anger, sorrow and pride, but I do have some personal beliefs on the subject. Can anyone really speak for "god" (if I can use that word) I mean the biggest debate on this site is if there even is such a thing. If there is a god, would anyone honestly know who or what it is without using their imagination (or just copying someone else’s from a book)?

Ah, the life force. It is Divine truly, what else could it be? It is what creates all beings and living things. Without it there is only a mass of biological elements instead of a being. Trees have it. Cats have it. Humans have it. I think sometimes the very Earth has it too. I worked with terminally ill people for years. You realize what 'life' is when it is no longer there and just the biological shell remains.

You are 'Le Mort'?? Change is a good thing, even when we can't see that it is good at the time. Change is what 'life' is all about.

I have spend the last 18 years searching spiritually, determined to answer this question and it is somewhat like being a scientist...In spiritual searching as you test the phenomenon, you come up with more questions and more experiences... It is definitely a journey...It opens the heart as if you were a vulnerable kid once again, so that is probably why not many people ever do it.

And the best way that I can describe it is in Wikipedia under the definition of energy....I have discovered that this invisible "force" interacts with me as I do the "work" along the path of life in order to evolve into the amazing human being that I was born to be.....And the energy brings about serious change in my life...in thought process, in compassion, in education level, in physical health, in relationships, in creativity, in love of animals/plants, and on and on.

I first discovered what I believe to be God when I was in a very desperate situation, and I wrote a book about my journey called Parable of the Fortune Cookie available on Amazon.com.

Thanks for the question.

God does exist. The Bible is an excellent source for answering all the questions you have, but it is good to join up with people who are very knowledgable about where in it to look for certain questions you may have. There are people on yahoo answers who pose questions to make you doubt faith in God if you don't already have it, and they do not have the answers, so be careful who you listen to.
God is our creator. He is all knowing and His love for us is infinite. Man has a mind of his own, which God created. Our freewill gives us the ability to decide what we want to believe, and how we choose to live our lives. We live in a world where good and evil coexist, so we are often tempted to think or do wrong things.
When we resist evil and decide to do the right things, we experience growth. When we ask God to guide our lives, and read the words of wisdom He has given us to live by, we experience spiritual growth. When we are loving others as we love ourselves, as we love God- we are truly alive.
By the way, we as humans cannot figure out every answer to the mysteries of the universe with our finite brains. That's where trust and faith in a higher power come in.

I cant give you an answer because there are SO MANY questions here. My advice to you is to ASK a (meaning one) question;quite rambling and using this site for a soap box. Create your own blog and those who are interested can visit while those of us who enjoy this site can answer legitimate questions & try to help people.

Pain is what makes something alive. And personality.

It is your choice whether to believe if one who speaks for "god" is really speaking for "god" or themself.

O thou breathing life of all,
Creator of the shimmering light that touches (and/or emanates)us,
clear the space inside of us so your "name" comes to life....

this is as much an identifier as it is a PRAYER, or alignment
