The wild regrets the bloody sweats,
None knew so well as I.
For he who lives more lives than one,
more deaths than one must die.
Well, it is about fate but I know...not exactly what you're looking for.
How about something like: Our lives are constantly on a path. Along the way, we come to a crossroads. At this point, we must make a decision on which way to travel. We have chosen our ways and must live with the decision we made. The road may be bumpy or seem to be treacherous to travel at times, but the end of the road is and will always be the place we belong.

From Alfred Lord Tennyson's poem 'In Memoriam:27', 1850:
I hold it true, whate'er befall;
I feel it, when I sorrow most;
'Tis better to have loved and lost
Than never to have loved at all.
