All the websites I've found say the same thing about Duragesic withdrawal length: it depends on how long you were on it. That...doesn't really answer anything.

If someone wore a 25 for a month, then a 50 for a month, then titrated down to the 25 again for 6 days before wearing nothing, withdrawal starts about two-three days in. Any actual estimates or stories of experience?

Or sites that have, perhaps, a table to match length of time on patch with length of withdrawal? (Now, that'd be novel for the sites on withdrawal to have!)

Thanks in advance for any answers!

Withdrawl depends on the person. It can be a mess. I had one Pt. who had diarrhea, vomiting for a week, and was moody-exasperated preexisting bi-polar d/o. He was not using patch, it was MS pill form. I weaned him from 50mg bid to 25mg bid-one week then 25mg bid to 25mg qd, then qod a week later. He was as I said bi-polar, and a recovering addict/alcoholic, and was hit by a car(that's why MS, he had a complex pelvic fracture) but he took it terrible. On the other hand, I had a Pt. same idea, but she had no history of drug use, and began refusing pain patch, and basically went cold turkey- no problems. It depends on Pt history, and of course the longer you are on it, the harder it is to stop use.

My husband was on this for several months and never had a problem with withdrawls from it. It most likely depends on the person.
