It sounds like psoriasis. I have it all over my body, but I have found that taking 2 tablespoons daily of flax seed oil seems to relieve the condition more than anything. You may want to try a sugar free diet for a while. Some say that candida can cause this type of skin condition. There is a product called "Candistroy" that you can start to get rid of the candida in your intestinal tract. (I"m 52)

Do you use your elbow alot ? Maybe in helping yourself get up or roll over at night/ This could cause them to become dry.
When your skin is wet still after a shower apply baby oil to them and pat dry and then use a thick emollient cream and cream them through out the day and at bedtime.
My grandmother does this and it works wonders for your elbow, knees and feet as well as the rest of the body.

You may have a touch of eczema on your elbows. You can get a good Aqueous cream at the pharmacy which is cheap and effective.
My mother used it last year and now her elbows are lovely and smooth.
Hope this helps

Aveeno lotion is great for dry skin and wont irritate it. Try exfoliating your elbows using a loafah while in the shower then apply Aveeno lotion. Aveeno also has some great overnight treatments. Other lotions that are great: Cetaphil, Eucerin, Aquaphor (this is great for overnight treatment its really thick.. just apply and wrap your elbow maybe with clingwrap or a small towel). Or use vaseline but only overnight and make sure you wrap it so it doesnt get all over you. Apply lotion regularly.

If you are 58 years old, you should know what to do! You've been around a long time. Don't you shop for lotions and creams for dry skin? If no OTC (over the counter) products have worked for you, then I suggest calling up a dermatologist!

You may want to exfoliate the elbows using exfoliating mitts or other products. Buff away the dead cells. Vaseline is good for dry skin.

take a lemon, cut it in half, dip in sugar and rub on your elbow...the sugar exfoliates and the citric acid from the lemon helps moisturize your skin
