Don't ye think that segregating certain voters and encouraging them NOT to answer your questions is un-Christian?

We are currently under: Home > Society & Culture > Religion and Spirituality. "For Christians" seems to be an attempt to create a sub category. If this section were "people", it would be fair to divide up as man and woman if the issues affected only one sex. However, you can still answer anyway.

What's interesting is to see professed atheists jumping into a religious or theological discussion that is specific to a specific topic in religion or theology.

Similarly, I would respect a "for Catholics" question (I'm not), because the issue does not concern me, and I am probably not a good person to answer.

So, there is nothing "un-Christian" or un-anything by trying to get good answers from people in a specific subcategory that isn't part of the Yahoo tree.

Not necessarily.

If I have a burning desire to learn about a specific Christian topic, then I may want just a Christian perspective. For example, if I wanted to know more about different church's views on baptism, then obviously an atheist is not going to have the same perspective as a Christian. And I can already guess the atheist's view on baptism since they don't believe in God.

It is true that we should not try to exclude people from discussions about faith. However, it is ok to ask a question to a specific group of people. Not everyone reveals their background when they answer a question. It would also be quite frustrating to ask a question intended to get information on how baptism is practiced, only to get a mass of anti-baptism responses from atheists and other religious views.

Atheists, Muslims, and other religions have their own philosophical and doctrinal questions that they may want answered by others within their faith, which is fine by me.

"But the wisdom that is from above is first pure , and easy to be intreated , full of mercy and good fruits , without partiallity , and without hypocrisy." James 3:17 . So i say yes. Now at the same time we are not supposed to cast our pearls before swine lest they trample them underfoot. So we have to discern what the Holy Spirit would have us to do.The word does not contradict its self here its just that God knew there would be those people. So there would be special circumstances were we as Christan's need very much to have that wisdom that can only come from above this will take prayer and fasting.I would like to encourage us all to practice more Love and Kindness to everyone as Jesus did.Love never faileth.

Not really because sometimes you want the opinion of people with like beliefs or people that will understand where your question is coming from. Why waste the person's time having to go through all of the "I'm an atheist and I don't care what Christians believe" answers?

If religion had any real basis then we wouldn't need to ever discuss it.

A fact never went into partnership with a miracle. Truth scorns the assistance of wonders. A fact will fit every other fact in the universe, and that is how you can tell whether it is or is not a fact. A lie will not fit anything except another lie.

It just depends on what the person is looking for, and there's nothing wrong with it, just like so many others above this answer ... if your looking for information about something medical, you would prefer that it was someone in the medical profession answer ... however, it doesn't matter who you say you want to answer the question, there is always someone out there that is gonna run amock and just throw something out there to get yer blood pressure to rise a little :)

I loved Jared G's answer though lmao

Would you ask the same question if the lables were different? What if someone said "Mechanics only, what is......?", or "IT Specialists only, how do you......?". No, it wouldn't effect you at all, you would go on to the next question. The people ask stuff like that, only want to know from the people who have the knowledge. Why would I ask Atheists about the nature of God? Why would you ask the world what mileage is right to replace a timing belt? Or how to configure a network for people who want to connect from home?

Segregation would be un-Christian.

But you could always phrase it like this:

"A question for Christians who know their Bible"

"A question for Christians"

or

"I need some help with this Bible verse, please help"

Yes, I can fully understand not wanting those who are not Christian or not religious mucking up the works but I personally know many non-Christians who do know their Bible and they can often ask questions that you may never have thought of.

Peace.

Tofu Jesus,
What's up Tofu, feeling picked on? Shoe's on the other foot now? Getting a little cranky? Time for a nap?

I answer the questions I want to answer, and if I wanted to ask others to not answer a question and told them what I thought, what's it to you? Who are you to tell me that I can't? What are you dictator?

As far as unChristian, you can take your expectancy of how I should behave as a Christian and shove it between you Gluteous maximus, and by the way
How's that for unChristian. I don't need to show you that I am sinless, pervert.

Not always. If you want a fresh perspective from a differint poing of view that I belive you can request certain people not to answer, but if you are doing it just to be biased the it's not a good idea.
