The greatest advances by the human race came about by asking questions and finding answers for themselves. I personally think that all religions have flaws somewhere. Although I believe in God, I don't consider myself a member of any religion (I'm not a Christian, Muslim, Buddhist etc..) I try to live my life in a way that is enriching and harmless to others and myself.

The way I see it, all religions came from the same divine origin and were changed over the course of several millennium simply because the followers changed. Read and learn about all religions, not just Christian and Islam. Then make up your own mind.

By the way rbmath2000, no offence mate but you really need a hobby! Talk about fanatical ranting! You are no better than the extremists that you claim to be against.

Takes one to know one eh?

There is no reason to believe Christians rather than Muslims, or the other way around. Religion is all about what you "believe" or "have faith" in. None of it is proven, so believe what you wish!

Woodworkingm (above) is a nut. That's what happens to you when you taken any religion too literaly.

You dont have to believe any, do your own research on both and see what you think with your own brain. From my personal experience I did just that and I found Islam to be the most rational religion, but that is only my opinion..gain knowledge for yourself and you will succeed insha'allah.
Also have you noticed in your answers how Islam is being really put down by those who have answered-christians,catholic. In Islam we respect christianity and see christians highly as people of the book yet Islam is not respected and is said to be of killing people..like I said seeking more knowledge will answer your question.
..RBmath2000-explain your verses instead of just cutting and pasting.

why do you need to believe anything at all?
because God has said that you do.

what good is faith? does it bring a happier more fulfilled life?
or is there a bigger reason why we need to have faith?

can I believe in just anything, is it all the same because nothings's really real?
or is it all the same because God is a pushover like you and me and it doesn't matter to God what we believe?

why not believe Him about Himself?
it is His hand that you must be redeemed from, it is His judgement that we will suffer if we are not reconciled to Him.

the muslims have no means for reconciliation.
they believe God is as forgetful as we are, and just as evil.

God is Holy and cannot condone, forget about, or not care about sin.
He gave of Himself, His Only Son, who proceeds forth from Himself so that He would take all of God's punishment for the sin of the whole world.
why?
because God love His creation, and made a way for them to come back to Him.

if you reject that way
you'll have no excuse, and you will be judged.
only not by muhammed, or ghandi, or buddah.

but The Alpha and Omega, The First and The Last. The Lamb of God, The Lord Jesus Christ who made you, and for whom you were made...will expect answers from you one day.
and you will have none if you don't turn to Him who died to save.
and who Is Risen, ressurected and gives new life to all those who turn to Him in repentance.

You can see it in there actions. Christians (true Christians not the deluded fascists of George bush) will always follow the righteous path. Knowing they are not worthy but repentant anyway.

Muslims will attempt to hide their inequities through accusation and violence.

Which is truly a religion of peace?

Well, If you feel that the Bible is the Word of God, then Christianity is what would result from it. If you desire to enter the Kingdom of God, then Christianity would be of interest to you.
Jesus Christ, accrording to the Scriptures, died for you, me, ALL, so that we could have the opportunity to live forever in perfect world conditions. He is also the only perfect example for us to follow. None of the prophets were perfect, so I go by Christ's perfect teachings which came from his heavenly Father, Jehovah God, the Almighty One.

I believe neither. Example: a person lives a decent life, is honest, doesn't lie cheat or steal. I refuse to believe that this person is going to hell because he or she does not follow a set of rules. Is God that inflexible??? The universe is to big and wonderful. Religion teaches us to be closed minded, intolerant and inflexible. follow your own heart.

Islam preaches that anyone who does not believe is an infidel and if they don't convert they should be destroyed. Christianity preaches that you have a free choice to believe or not and that God will judge you not some lunatic Mullah on earth. I don't believe Christ wants us to strap on suicide bomb belts and kill innocent people either.

Simply ask god to reveal to you which is true , since God cannot lie He will show you the way. I'm a Christian because God did this for me. It's important not to believe just in what men say, but in what God says to you.

Nobody should ask you to believe in any of them. You must believe in what you yourself is comfortable to do. Both have the ideal and the not so ideal that you may find but follow what your heart feels and you may not be wrong.
