If he is doing the #2 job on the toilet, pat yourself on the back! that is way harder to accomplish with little boys than peeing. Some people I have hears put cheerios or froot loops in the toilet and have him try to sink the ceral by peeing on it- make a game out of it and see if he's interested then. If he goes along with your *game* give him a small reward for trying it and if he succeeds!! good luck!!

My little boy is 4 now so I know what you are going through-mine did the same thing. First you have to be really patient. I actually did two things that helped him. I bought him some 'real' cotton underwear they have at walmart in the baby section so he could feel when he was wet if he had an accident. I would make him wear them for a little while and not just take them off right away and change him. After a few times of accidents he started realizing it didn't feel good to be wet and the second thing you can try is making a game out of it by putting 3 or 4 cheerios or fruit loops in the toilet and have him try to 'hit' them when goes to pee. If he likes that he will want to go to the toilet to pee!! and eventually catch on to the feeling of when he needs to go. It may drive you a little crazy at first going every few minutes but it does help them. I didn't use pull ups until he really got the hang of it because they feel like diapers--at night I would let him wear his little underwear and put a pair of those plastic pants over them. And make a "REALLY" big deal out of it every time he does go pee in the toilet and tell him he is a big boy. I hope this helps you some and good luck!!!

Can you let him run around outside with no pants or just cloth undies? That way he will make the connection with peeing=feeling wet.
I advise staying away from pull-ups because they are so absorbent even the "feel wet" ones don't get THAT wet, and they're much harder to pull up and down than underwear.
Cloth training pants or undies are the best. Your son can learn to pull them up and down by himself, they will feel wet when he has an accident, and he will learn faster.
It's great he's doing #2 in the potty. Good work! He'll probably catch on to going #1 in the potty soon too.
My first child was scared of the potty, he wasn't trained until after age 3!

I worked in a daycare with 2 years olds for several years. We just gave them time. We'd cheer when they pottied, or we'd give them a sticker. Cheerios in the toilet are great to let boys aim at. Also try putting him straight into underwear and if he wets himself make him change his own pants and underwear. He will get frustrated but don't do it for him, tell him he can't play til he changes himself. This worked on several children. They did not want to have to stop playing and have to change themselves, so they would go in and go potty. Just don't get mad at him if he does have an accident. Tell him he needs to be a big boy and wear big boy underwear. If he likes Superman or whatever, tell him that superman does not like getting pee pee on him.
Good luck

You should be thankful that he is doing #2 in the toilet, usually boys don't do the potty thing till they are 3. Hang in there and he will be peeing in the toilet in no time. Don't worry about it and don't make the child nervous about it either, he will when he wants to P.

I put a blank piece of paper on the wall, and let him pick out stickers at the store. Every times he goes pee or poo in the potty he gets to pick out a sticker and put it on his paper. You could make a chart I guess, and when he gets so many stickers he gets a trip to the park or something. Good luck. My 3 year old will pee in the potty but not poo.

Their right boys are more harder and if you got him #2 this early then great on the peeing part get a splash guard if hes on the big toilet they dont like when they get slpashed on....they also dont like being wet so let him wear nothing but the thick fabric undies nothing else while your at home.(on that picking his own undies out that was a good idea too..dont buy regular underwear unless you want to be mopping every half hour..)...make sure telling him big boys dont potty in there undies......take him to the bathroom just explain he needs to go in the toilet....

Try putting Cheerios in the potty and let him Aim at them and see if he can hit them with his pee. Its just a fun little game to him and he won't even realize it til he is potty trained!!
Good Luck

My son was 4 before he was completley potty trained and the best thing I can tell you is, when he feels comfortable he will do it. I learned the hard way that trying to make him doesn't work , I even bought little toys and candy to bribe him and that didn't work. But one day he decided he was going to use it and he has been ever since. When he is ready he will do it. Don't give up!

For some little boys putting some cheerios in the potty to aim at is a fun game. The same goes for a square of toilet paper...see if you can hit it and/or break it.
