What's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. If you think a loving God came up with this story - you're silly! God sounds NOTHING LIKE US.

You're wrong -- the biblegod sounds EXACTLY like us; or rather, the petty, manipulative little humans who invented religion in order to get into your wallet and fuel their little power trip over you....

You're argument is a bit strong, and you're going to get a lot of people angry at you. Anyway, I think that a person's personal beliefs in an afterlife should only be applied to her/him. If I believe that in the afterlife good people will get nice, floating cars, but the bad people have to eat Lima beans and roll in dog poo, then I can't apply those beliefs to people outside of my belief structure.

An interesting note: Until about 200 years ago, it was a very realistic possibility for Christians that they, even though they loved Jesus, would still go to Hell. In their theology, just being a Christian didn't mean that person went to Heaven. Only those that were elected by God could go to Heaven. Even religious leaders shared in the general anxiety of not knowing where they went in the afterlife. I wish they still believed that so they'd leave us alone!

If God doesnt punish people and there are no consequences for sin. WHY SHOULD WE FOLLOW GOD?

Anti-hell arguments are feel-good liberal nonsense propagated by people that want to live life for themselves and believe there are no cosequences for it. That contradicts a number of things we know about God and you deny what God has already written! So God to you is not only contradictory but hes a liar as well? Interesting faith you have. Lemme know how it works out!

God shouldn't sound like us. He is God not human. Revelations will give you the scoop my friend. Read it, absorb it and talk with a pastor. You can make hell on earth but why would you want to? Beyond that there is eternity and I think most everyone would prefer heaven over hell when our eternity is at stake. God is loving but he does discipline his children - so they can grow and mature in their faith. God never leaves our sides - we leave him and that is the human downfall in a Christ followers life.

Hell is actually based on burning garbage dump outside Jerusalem that was always on fire, and stunk to high heaven. Look up "Gehenna" and you will see the true origin of "hell". And, you can't go to a place that doesn't actually exist, although there are places on Earth that could easily be considered "Hell", like Baghdad right now.

It is a promise that the good will be with Jesus and the un-repented will go to Hell. So Hell is just around the corner for ones who don't give a rats ***.

Well according to the faithful, Lucifer 'invented' hell. The problem of course is that God created Lucifer, knowing full well when he did so that Lucifer would fall and become the Prince of Evil. Thus, God created evil purposefully.

God did not come up with the idea of a fiery hell. Religion did that.

God says that the dead have no knowledge. Ecclesiates 9:5,10

To feel pain, one needs to have knowledge.
