You'll have to become an RN first and then take specialized training courses in obstetrics and midwifery. You local community college should have an RN program, it's a 2 year degree. If you want more specialized training you can attain a 4 year degree in nursing from a university. Good luck to you! I love working in health care. =)

You don't have to do a nursing degree to get into midwifery.
You can, provided you have the right qualifications - if not take an access course, do a midwifery degree but there a couple of variations - i strongly suggest you speak to a careers advisor as to which is the best route for you as it will affect your future development.
Google midwifery and you'll be able to trawl through all the info there is out there nmas.ac.uk is a good place to start.
Good luck.

you will need gcse and btec in care or at least 2 a levels or even nvq at certain first. you then need to apply to hospital that is running nursing degrees supported by an university, i believe you can a grant for this, then it is the foundation and after that i think you go onto what you want to do

You'll need to go to school for a nursing degree first. Then you'll do specialized midwifery training.
Good luck!
