Egg yolks on plates always smell a bit funny.
I always rinse off all visible signs of egg under running water before washing plates, either in the sink or in the dishwasher, if it is not rinsed off first, the smell tends to "linger" in the water, and attaches itself to all your other dishes.
Be particularly careful about rinsing egg off the tines of forks, and the blades of knives, where it is apt to "hide" and taint all your other dishes.
The smell is perfectly normal, but can be unpleasant.
All the advice about dishcloths and tea towels is of course right, but must be a bit annoying if you are the sort of person who is fussy about these things, as I guess you must be as you notice the "tainted" smell of your newly washed dishes.

It could be something they are feeding the hens?
My sister once had an egg (cheap ones) and it smelt of fish. Turned out they fed the battery hens fish meal! YUK!
Try free range/organic if you havnt already?

I agree that it is most likely the dishrags/sponges used to clean the dishes. Try soaking them in a bleach and water solution for a few minutes.

It could be your dish cloth as they harbour more germs and smells than any thing and can cause food poisoning the other thing is use hot water to rinse with and let them air dry as T. towels can carry germs and smells to. you could just have an aversion to egg and mayonnaise smells

I don't think you can blame just the mayo - it's the eggs which cause the problem and they are also in mayo - give up the eggs and mayo!

have you cleaned the dishrags and pitched your old sponges lately?

Usually, it isn't the food. It's the device you're using to clean your plates.
