I am in need of a piston for a 1929 Sunbeam, model 8, 350cc motorcycle. The Hepolite number stamped in it is 3238B. The Hepworth & Grandage number casted into it states HG405AM. If it helps the piston is a 70mm bore, slight dome top, with two valve reliefs cut into it. Pin bore is .750.

I have already tried contacting several folks in the UK. Including one of the Sunbeam Registry members, and AE who owned Hepolite.

I have a friend who restores vintage motorcycles and he has had to machine his own pistons for all his bikes because it is almost impossible to find any in good enough condition to use, and if they exist they cost a small fortune.

A lot of the piston companies will duplicate a piston for you If you have one you can send them to go by. Good Luck!
