Do you know that you are lost and unhappy right now and how much better your life could be with Him in it? I pity you for living such a sad and hopeless lifestyle and pray He will find you so He will bring about God's Salvation.
I don't know why you wouldnt' want Him to be in your life because once you do, He will guide your thoughts and actions forever. You need no longer worry, feel pain, or be afraid for He has come to save you from sin! The Lord Jesus, accept him and be free! He loves you and I pray you come to the light of Jesus Christ and truly become found and happy. If you don't, you are going to Hell and He doesn't want that to happen.
Why would you deny His presence, if you do, you've lost The Truth and The Way.

The loss of spiritual decrease comes from a lack of tradition in the family.
The Word and "Idea" Family I think is hanging on for existence. plus the lack of
self-worth, We now or have lived in a world where we rely on others to create us.
A day when someone comments we are beautiful, that day we are born beautiful. We feel pain
because we create within ourselves and place it around us. We need to maybe feel that we
have control and we can take that pain away.
Jesus, is a complicated topic that could be endless. If god helps those who helps themselves then
why do we need him to guide in the right direction? We are born with enough intelligence to grow
knowing right from wrong however we lived our lives. We know what causes pain and that pain is
not the answer. I rarely go to church but i do go and somehow the sanctuary reminds me of a movie
theater. But finally the is truth is untold because we are human beings and unconditional does not
exist in human nature so how can we believe in that ideal.

In the past, more people were illiterate or uneducated and didn't challenge the status quo (and independent thought was not promoted.) Also remember, people were persecuted if they were not faithful. Also, with poverty normally comes greater faith. So, it is one of the drawbacks of a free, educated, and wealthy society. In parallel, divorce is also more common because we have two equal adults in the relationship--where in the past, the man was the one who controlled everything (there's always less disagreement in a dictatorship than in a democracy, but that doesn't mean people are better off.)
It certainly doesn't mean that educated and free people won't choose spirituality, in fact, I'd argue that one who chooses it through a free and open process is in fact far more faithful than those who are religious based primarily on circumstance. In reality, because the world's population is always increasing, there will always be more spiritual people than there were previously, so in one sense, your question is false; however, in the sense that a smaller % of the population is spiritual than in the past, that is probably true. (Although I hear it is on the rise again.)

Materialism has been a factor in the decline of spirituality. However, the mass popularity of books like the Celestine Prophecy show that people are searching and events like 911 have been, for many, a spiritual wake-up call. Organized religion, however, has let many people down.

There are many
But one large one is the the facr the governement cannot understand " separtion from church and states" means that the governement STAYS out of church business!
It , therefore, feels the needs to block Christians from expressing our beliefs. i.e. Displaying Commandments, praying, etc.
I know someone will have the arguement that we are forcing our beliefs onto them. This isn't true because, #1 they don't have to listen or join in and #2 if you have 1000 people in a room that wants to pray and 1 person who doesn't. Then thre government says, no.......who's rights are being trampled on??

Materialism.
An increased sense of ego, as well.
What's more important to most people? Being happy with themselves and feeling whole, or having the newest mechanical goody (like Verizon's CHOCOLATE) and thinking they are cool?
Most rich people are not truly happy, and they don't understand why. It's because money cannot buy true happiness.
And today, the worth of a dollar is decreasing, and the amount of money rent and mortgages cost is increasing. This makes kids see money as being important, and the most important thing in their lives.

Education.
Religion is for the weak minded and under educated.
A fact never went into partnership with a miracle. Truth scorns the assistance of wonders. A fact will fit every other fact in the universe, and that is how you can tell whether it is or is not a fact. A lie will not fit anything except another lie.

I think it stems from the generation that coined, If it feels good do it, then came, its my own body, I can do what I want with it and lastly the political correctness move. People are more interested in pleasing themselves than God. I speak in general, because I know there are those of us who still love the Lord and try to keep His commandments.

I really don't think there is much of a spiritual decrease - just more people are expressing their spirituality in different ways.

Self-righteousness. Each person thinks that he/she is the most important person in the world. This causes selfishness to rear its ugly head. To be spiritual a person must humble themselves before God. A selfish, self-righteous person cannot do this. they cannot give up everything for God; therefore they end up with nothing but a one-way ticket to hell.
