Be professional - wear business casual. Jeans are not banned, but they don't show respect to the court. People in the room are uasally in the same situation as you. Numbers depend on how many hearings the judge has scheduled. You sit until your case is called - then you usually stand at a podium in front of the judge. Time & questions: depends on if your having a trial or taking a plea.

Yes you can wear jeans and a nice top. Depending on the size of the docket there could be a lot of people in the room. You sit and when your name is called you approach the bench. The Judge will ask you if you plead guilty or not guilty. If you plead Not guilty he will then set a trial date. Most of the time the judge does not want to talk to you. Be respectful and when he has told you everything and ask if you have any questions then ask. Don't ask him dumb questions it will only irratate him. If you want time to pay you can ask that if he hasn't already brought it up to you. And if its a first offense speeding charge he may let you keep it off your driving history but bring a copy of a clean record with you to show him. Just relax and don't be nervous.

traffic court can be a large group of people all asked to appear at the same time. in the state where i live, the prosecutors are not there, but have read all the files in advance and put offers in them for the defendants to accept or reject. an offer may be to reduce the fine or to keep something off your record so as not to affect your insurance.
dress nicely, it will help everyone take you seriously.
if you accept an offer, you won't have to answer any questions, usually just pay the fine.
if you reject the offer and you choose to have a trial, you will likely have to come back and the officer who issued the ticket will be there next time you come to court. the prosecutor will also be there if it is a trial and the prosecutor will put the officer on the stand to tell his side of the story as to how you were pulled over or otherwise cited. there may be video tape from a squad car's dashboard camera if the stop was recorded, or perhaps just the officer's notes from the encounter.
you will have your chance to tell your side of the story and also if you had any passengers with you they should be in court for the trial date to testify on your behalf.
this is a summary of how traffic court works in my county, it may be different in the place you live, but the essentials will likely be similar

good luck!
